Taekwondo, which means “The art of Kicking and Punching” is a martial art developed by General Choi around 1940 and was recognized as a medal sport at the Olympics for the first time at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sidney, Australia.
The martial art is well known for its powerful kicking techniques, sparring, forms and board-breaking.
Taekwondo incorporates, and teaches us how to enhance our character by training not just our body but our mind as well. Achieve Martial Arts school teaches self-discipline, respect, honesty, and many other principles that not just make the students grow as practitioners of the art, but also as human beings.
In both locations, Yonkers and Scarsdale, our amazing instructors reinforce that Taekwondo is not just about punching and kicking but also about character development.
